Mike ARMOOGUM, pillar of the rhythm section.

Mike comes for Mauritius. Following his older brother’s example, he learned the bass from an early age and kicked his career off in 1988. Just like most of Mauritian musicians, he spent many years playing in hotels and holiday resorts in his island as well as in festivals all over the Indian Ocean (Reunion, Seychelles, Rodrigues Islands …)

He toured with Kaya, a major Sega artist from Mauritius. He started touring in Europe in 1993 but only got to Paris in 1998 to study at Jazz School “Le CIM”.

In 1999, Boney approached him to become the bass man of the Bone’s Project. That was Mike’s first gig in France.

A very eclectic musician, Mike has been playing with many artists such as Raoul De SOUZA, U.P. WILSON, Tino GONZALES ... He’s also played with Philippe TURLO Jazz trio and B.CONNECTED in Switzerland.

Mike is the corner stone of the Bone’s Project. He’s been there since day one, the heartbeat of the band. His grooves are rock solid and mixed with different influences from his native island, a genuine traveller in sound and rhythm.
